Bielefeld's Flobi attracts visitors at HMI 2012 to the OWL-booth
On the opening day (23rd April) Marianne Tomann-Stahl, President of the District Government Detmold, Friedel Heuwinkel, the Destrict Administrator of Lippe and the Minister for Economy, Energy, Building, Housing and Transport of the State North-Rhine-Westphalia, Harry K. Voigtsberger visited our booth at the international industry fair in Hanover (HMI). The robot head Flobi is able to shows emotions and to act as a conversation partner. Bielefeld's research focus Human-Robot Interaction is a significant part of the leading-edge cluster it's OWL.
Here CITEC's researcher Frank Hegel (on the right hand) explained Flobi's developing to Minister Harry K. Voigtsberger, Ministry for Economy, Energy, Building, Housing and Transport of the State North-Rhine-Westphalia (on the left hand).
The HMI will be open until Friday (27th April), everyday from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. On Friday there will be a program especially for school student: They can get informations about study at the Technical Faculty of Bielefeld University, and about the hands-on experiences laboratory teutolab-robotik.
